PALO ALTO, Calif. March 15, 2016 – Strategic Decisions Group today extended its congratulates to two recipients of the Raiffa-Howard Award for Organizational Decision Quality. The award, presented by the Society of Decision Professionals, goes to Lilly Research Laboratories and to Pfizer Inc, acknowledging the recipients’ excellence in applying the principles of Decision Quality (DQ) throughout the organizations.
“We congratulate the teams at Lilly and at Pfizer for this well-deserved honor,” said Carl Spetzler, CEO of Strategic Decisions Group. “Both are world-class examples of companies leading the way in creating additional value through their excellent decision processes.”
Lilly Research Laboratories is the R&D arm of Eli Lilly and Company. In its February announcement, the Society of Decision Professionals said Lilly was selected for its long-term commitment to making Decision Quality an organization-wide competency that directly contributes to the company’s successful track record in managing its drug research and discovery efforts.
Pfizer was selected for its application of Decision Quality principles to guide the management of its worldwide research and development portfolio, said SDP, in announcing the award in March.
SDP expects to present the awards to both winners in April as part of the the annual conference of the Decision Analysis Affinity Group, held this year in Banff Park Lodge, Banff, Alberta.
“All decision professionals should celebrate these two new honorees,” said Dr. Spetzler. “Like Chevron before them, these companies are demonstrating what it takes to commit to organizational decision quality. With Chevron, Lilly, and Pfizer leading the way, we can expect many more organizations to follow.”
Chevron was the inaugural winner of the Raiffa-Howard award in 2014.
