Konrad Knell is a principal in the firm’s Menlo Park office, specializing in strategy development and R&D portfolio management. Since joining Strategic Decisions Group in 1990, he has worked with companies in a variety of industries, most notably life sciences, oil & gas, and automotive. Knell is also an instructor and coach in the firm’s Executive Education practice, and has been pioneering methods of bringing graphic facilitation, collaborative group process, and leadership development into strategic planning.
He has directed the development of large-scale business strategies in many diverse organizations in the life sciences, consumer products, manufacturing, and technology industries. These efforts have resulted in revolutionary new biotechnology products, a highly successful four-company joint venture to develop a nationwide navigation and communication system, and integrated therapeutic area strategies in a pharmaceutical company.
Prior to joining SDG, Knell was an associate consultant with Deloitte & Touche and a line manager at Comarco, an engineering services firm in the aerospace industry. He has also served as a principal at Blue Summit Strategy, providing strategy facilitation services to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits.
Knell received an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an AB in biology from Harvard University.
