Katherine “Trina” Weller


Katherine “Trina” Weller is a principal in the Menlo Park, Calif., office with 30 years of experience as a decision professional in consulting and education. Weller is a member of the firm’s executive education program, which helps clients develop internal capabilities to enhance the quality of their decision-making. She frequently teaches public and private courses in the Strategic Decision and Risk Management certificate program.

Weller’s consulting engagements have included evaluating capital investment decisions in the energy, telecommunications and healthcare industries; prioritizing R&D projects; developing environmental remediation and litigation strategies; analyzing venture capital portfolio decisions; and developing marketing strategies for pharmaceutical, automotive, and technology products.

Before joining the firm in 2011, Weller co-founded Project Risk Group, which specialized in mitigating schedule risk in high-stakes projects. She also co-founded Outcome Software, where she managed deployments of the firm’s decision-analysis-based enterprise software and later served as CFO. Prior to joining Outcome, Weller was a senior consultant at Applied Decision Analysis and the director of its professional education program.

Weller holds an MS in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University and a BS in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. She is a Fellow of the Society of Decision Professionals.
