Josée Tremblay


Josée Tremblay has more than two decades of experience leading large organizations and managing capital-intensive portfolios in heavy industrial settings in Asia and North America. She brings a deep technical expertise in energy as well as strategic and commercial experience to guide business decision making and identify new commercial opportunities. She currently serves on boards of two organizations focused on technology and clean energy.

Ms. Tremblay has worked internationally both onshore and offshore in the energy industry and has held senior positions at Suncor Energy, Inpex Corporation, ConocoPhillips, and Burlington Resources. Most recently, she was the regional vice president for East Coast Canada at Suncor Energy. During her tenure, she served over three years as the chair of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Offshore Policy Group, where she brought together regional industry peers to establish and publish the action plan, Collaboration for Safety and Sustainability, topics of importance in the industry.

Currently, Ms. Tremblay is vice chair of the board of directors at C-Core, an engineering R&D organization specializing in remote sensing, geotechnical, oceans and energy, offshore wind and renewables. She also serves on the board of a clean-energy venture.

Ms. Tremblay holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary, a certificate in strategic decision and risk management from the Stanford School of Engineering, and an executive education certificate in finance and accounting from Rice University. She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a co-founder of the Calgary Chapter of the Society of Decision Professionals. She is an active member of the Schulich School of Engineering Dean’s Industry Advisory Council (SIAC). Ms. Tremblay is fluent in English and French.
