Achieving Strategic Decision Quality, a course available as part of the Strategic Decision and Risk Management certificate program offered by Texas Executive Education at The University of Texas at Austin, is now available online.

Achieving Strategic Decision Quality is the only required course in the certificate curriculum. Students who complete courses totaling six credits earn the certificate.

“The availability of an ‘on demand’ option makes it easier for students to advance toward a certificate if they are unable to travel to the UT campus, or if they wish to participate at their own pace,” said Hannah Winter, program director for the certificate. “Some participants are not able to join us on campus for three days. The online option also keeps a participant’s costs down. Over the next year, we anticipate making more certificate courses available online, allowing students to participate from anywhere they can get an internet connection, on their own timetable.”

Instructors in the online program include UT Associate Professor Eric Bickel and SDG partners Bruce Judd and Carl Spetzler. Participants learn to frame strategic choices, generate alternatives, develop credible forecasts, quantify uncertainty, and judge the quality of a decision at the time it is made.
